Great news for a Heat All-Star!

Despite a disappointing end to the 2020-21 campaign, Miami intends to return with title ambitions next fall. Luckily, an oft-injured All-Star in the franchise should be in good shape again to do battle! It was time !

148 games is the total that Victor Oladipo has missed over the past three seasons. Systematically undermined by injuries, the rear has also found itself wandering from franchise to franchise. In the last twelve months alone, he has known no less than three teams… It is not easy to return to his original level, under these conditions.

It was also seen well in South Beach, where the No. 2 of the 2013 draft only played four games before relapsing. However, this was hardly surprising according to Jonathan Glashow, a surgeon renowned for taking care of athletes. He took care of the reconstruction of the affected ligaments in Oladipo’s injured leg, and what he found there is mind-blowing:

I repaired the quadriceps tendon and did it a little differently than what had been done before. The quadriceps was not really properly hooked. It was torn, and I reattached it. To be honest, I was amazed that he managed to play with what he was going through.

This is proof that the Magic Elder literally fought against his own body, even if it wasn’t very successful. Such abnegation, however, was enough to convince the Heat to keep him, at least for another year. The good news, as Glashow explains, Totor should indeed be in gear to play most of it:

I am very optimistic about the possibility of releasing him in six months, by November. I think he will replay very well. The operation went very well and the healing is very good. I am sure he will play next year.

Like Dennis Schröder, this is the perfect opportunity for the guard to rebuild a good reputation, in view of the free agency to come. We must not forget that before his injury, Oladipo was a formidable two-way player, able to lead a team if necessary. The kind of player who is extremely valuable in hot times, and who logically interests the world.

After years of doubts and suffering, Victor Oladipo finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel. We wish him to get back in shape as quickly as possible, so that he can preserve his future in the NBA!
