Good news in sight for the Lat Dior stadium in Thiès
The Lat Dior stadium in Thiès is on the verge of obtaining final approval, IGFM tells us. On August 5, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) sent Mozambican Muhammad Feizal Sidat, its club license manager, to inspect the Lat Dior stadium in Thiès, which has so far been hosting the matches of the national football team.
An inspection visit which should do good to the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). Indeed, we learn that the Lat Dior stadium in Thiès, which has hosted the matches of the Senegal national A team since March 2019, should now be deemed suitable by CAF to receive the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, including the first two. days, had been scheduled last June, because of a non-approval of several stadiums on the continent including that of Thiès.

While waiting for the official report of the governing body of African football, the inspector who had been sent to Thiès, would be satisfied with the progress of the work which had been requested by CAF from the Federation so that the stadium could meet international standards.
According to the same source, in full inspection visit, Muhammad Feizal Sidat would have said: « it is good ». Words addressed to a Senegalese leader who was there. Even if we have to wait for an official announcement that will come from CAF in the coming days, we have to put in mind that the Senegal team should more than 90%, play the first days of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, in residence. It will be September 3, 2021, against Togo.
