Inter Miami CF striker Gonzalo Higuain will retire at the end of this campaign.
This is what he announced in a press conference held on Monday.
The 34-year-old Designated Player played professional soccer for 17½ years. He has worked since the 2020 campaign for Inter Miami, since the club’s arrival in Major League Soccer (MLS).
In 65 games on the Garber circuit, Higuain has hit the target 27 times. He has also scored 12 goals and provided two assists in his last 14 outings in 2022.
The Argentinian played for several prestigious organizations before joining MLS, including Real Madrid, Juventus FC, AC Milan and Chelsea FC.
There are two games left in the regular season for Inter Miami, including a meeting with CF Montreal on Sunday. For the moment, the Florida formation occupies the seventh and last rank giving access to the playoffs in the Eastern Association. If she remains in this position, she will go to Stade Saputo to begin the post-season phase in mid-October.
