A few hours earlier, Albert Commey said that some matches in the Ghanaian championship were fixed on the last day. A statement that further ignited the web and made the Ghana Football Association (GFA) react. The latter decided to open an investigation to this effect.
On its Twitter page, the GFA reacted to the controversy over match-fixing between certain clubs on the last day of the Ghanaian Premier League. In her press release, she invited the president of Ashanti Gold, Albert Commey, to join the ethics committee in order to carry out the investigations. This since the « FIFA and GFA code of ethics imposes duties on football participants to help the Association and FIFA eradicate these evils from the game – the duty to disclose and the duty to cooperate », recalled the Ghanaian body.

Still within the framework of carrying out investigations in order to locate responsibilities, the GFA should meet Albert Commey shortly. This meeting is announced for Friday July 9, 2022. As a reminder, the president of Ashanti Gold had declared in these terms: “the Ghanaian Premier League was competitive, but I was not satisfied with the last day because there was a lot of match fixing”.
