The Georgia Bulldogs were crowned NCAA champions on Monday in Los Angeles. In the final of the University Championship, they destroyed the university of Texas Christian (65-7). At the break, the Bulldogs were already leading 38-7. This is the second consecutive title of the University of Georgia and the fourth in its history (after 1942 and 1980).
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett threw four touchdown passes and also scored two more TD’s while running. He was voted offensive MVP of the game. Bennett became one of the few QB’s to have been a two-time college champion. Javon Bullard, the safety of the Bulldogs, author of two interceptions and a covered fumble, was named defensive MVP.
