English club Tottenham announced on Saturday the return of former player Gareth Bale, on a one-year loan from Real Madrid.
The Welsh player had only played one meeting with Madrid after the interruption of competition linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bale will return to the club with which he shone from 2007 to 2013 to the point of becoming the most expensive transfer in history when he joined Real for some € 100m.
He played 203 games for Spurs, scoring 55 goals and winning the player of the season title twice, in 2011 and 2013.
During his years at Madrid, Bale won La Liga four times and the Champions League twice, but he no longer seemed to fit Zinedine Zidane’s plans.
The British press has also claimed that the Merengue have agreed to pay half of his salary estimated at around 650,000 per week.
