Galtier does not rule out new transfers to the transfer window

Second in Ligue 1 behind PSG, OGC Nice welcomed Jordan Amavi on loan to fill the departure of Hassane Kamara. At a press conference, technician Christophe Galtier was asked about the rest of the transfer window.

On a good start in the first part of the season, OGC Nice started the year 2022 well with a victory in Brest (3-0) last Sunday. With a current second place, the Niçois are well placed to secure a qualification for the European Cup. To achieve this ambition, the winter transfer window could be the ideal time to strengthen the workforce.

For the moment, the club led by INEOS has contented itself with replacing its left side Hassane Kamara, who left for Watford with a former member of the house: Jordan Amavi. In a dead end in Marseille, the Frenchman was on loan until the end of the season. In front of the press, the trainer Christophe Galtier spoke about possible movements in January: « We always need people. Afterwards, we must not traffic jam (…) What will happen between now and the next end of the transfer window, nobody knows. «

« We compensated for the departure of the left side with the arrival of Jordan Amavi. If players want to leave because they are unhappy, we have to listen. We cannot accept everything, but we can listen and understand the position of each other. «

« I don’t like to see unhappy players »

In order to clarify his thinking on his desire not to pile up players, the former Lille coach spoke about the mentality of players who are frustrated with not playing enough: « You always have people in the locker room who are unhappy. Even those who play 30 minutes, where start and exit are. Those who do not play are extremely unhappy. Me, I don’t like to see unhappy players. «

But aware that competition is part of football, the Frenchman knows he has to deal with this problem: « This is also the job. It’s a difficult job where you are faced with internal competition and adversity when you are in the competition. «
