First international medal for the captain of the French swimming team. Damien Joly won the bronze medal in the 1500m on Tuesday at the European Swimming Championships in Rome. The 30-year-old swimmer clocked 14.50.86, behind Italian Gregorio Paltrinieri (14.39.79) and Ukrainian European champion Mykhaylo Romanchuk (14.36.10). Joly brings the 8th medal to the French delegation.
