Formula 1 | Vettel: My future is ‘a problem to be solved’

Sebastian Vettel admits his future beyond Formula 1 is a « Problem to solve » which begins to run through his head.

In recent days and weeks, some have hinted that the moment was approaching when the four-time world champion would hang up his helmet.

Those rumors have only intensified amid Aston Martin F1’s struggles this year, with the team and driver confirming that the contract between them expires at the end of this season.

« I’m still there, » said Vettel. « My contract ends at the end of the year. »

« No decision has been made yet on what I want to do, » admits the German.

“It depends on the car, how the team develops and how the races go. But I don’t have to lie – my future is a problem to be solved, it’s in my head. accommodate. »

New Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack has told Imola he would like Vettel to stay motivated and with the team in 2023.

« We’ll see. The truth is, I have lots of ideas, I talk to lots of people and I’m easily inspired. »

« But I’m not putting any pressure on myself to create my next perfect career tomorrow. I don’t want to raise expectations about finding what’s perfect for me. »

« I’ve found something in Formula 1 that I’m very good at. Something where I can compete with the best in the world. What happens next, time will tell. »

« I said two years ago ‘I’m going to drive for two more years’. But I don’t think about life after F1 every day yet.
