Formula 1 | Vettel hopes Hamilton and Verstappen rivalry will last

Opposed to Lewis Hamilton in 2017 and 2018 for the world title, Sebastian Vettel collapsed before the end of the season in both cases. In 2017, the crash with Kimi Räikkönen and Max Verstappen in Singapore cost him dearly.

In 2018, his mistake in Germany and then several spins ended his global quest. He hopes for this season’s show that Verstappen can afford to go all the way in his title fight against Hamilton.

« I hope Max has a better car at the end, or that he will be in a better position at the very end. Because in the fights I had against Lewis, unfortunately we weren’t as competitive. to really give it a hard time at the end  » Vettel notes.

The Aston Martin F1 driver believes the current rivalry between Hamilton and Verstappen must continue without blows: “A rivalry is good for any sport. But I’m a big fan of respectful rivalries. And I think we see a very clean battle so far.”
