Formula 1 | Verstappen won’t comment on duet idea with de Vries

The arrival of Nyck de Vries in the fold of Red Bull, since he will drive next year for AlphaTauri, has raised the idea of having two Dutchmen in the future within Red Bull Racing. Max Verstappen does not want to come forward as to this possibility, and already welcomes the arrival of his compatriot in F1.
« You shouldn’t ask me that » Verstappen told Viaplay. « It also depends on what happens next to me with Checo, who will stay as long as he continues to perform well. But first, let’s just enjoy having two Dutchmen in Formula 1. »
Verstappen is happy to see de Vries reach F1 as a starter, three years after his F2 title. The 2022 world champion has been impressed with current reserve Williams’ quick adaptation to Monza.
« He now has a steering wheel for the years to come and that’s very good. What I also appreciate is that he took this unique opportunity with both hands. He immediately scored points and I am very happy for him. »
« I’m also sure he can learn at AlphaTauri. They’re also a really great team and hopefully a competitive team. It’s of course about being able to fight for those points. »
