Formula 1 | The Covid-19 again threatens the good performance of the Japanese GP
A dark cloud is already moving over a race confirmed for the 2nd half of the 2022 Formula 1 calendar.
On the side of Suzuka, in Japan, we are not ready to open the ticket office for the Grand Prix this year, the local authorities fearing a resumption of the pandemic of covid-19 in the fall.
Jeroen Huis in’t Veld, CEO of ticketing and travel agency XS2Event, said the Japanese GP could go ahead but probably without international tourists.
« The holding of the race was described to us as very uncertain, with international tourists still banned from entering the country. »
« According to a spokesperson for the race organization, it is not certain that the Japanese GP can take place. The ticket office cannot therefore open internationally. »
« And if the Grand Prix is possible, only Japanese spectators will be welcome. »
