Formula 1 supports Santander’s challenge to start-ups to find next-generation sustainable solutions.

Formula 1 and Santander (Banco Santander) have joined forces to offer their shared expertise in business, innovation and sustainability to support the next generation of entrepreneurs. As part of a promotional partnership, Formula 1 will amplify the impact of the event. The announcement follows F1’s reaffirmed commitment to achieve zero carbon by 2030, as part of its wider sustainability strategy, which includes the introduction of 100% sustainable fuels in 2026 and freight and logistics innovations that will improve the reduction of carbon emissions. By supporting this competition, F1 will be able to directly offer entrepreneurs support and advice based on the spearhead of sustainable innovation’s extensive in-house experience.

Sustainability is also a priority for Santander, which has invested in building a sustainable business, providing educational and financial support to the new wave of talent.

The website Countdown to zero The competition, which will be judged by a panel of F1 staff, marks the start of a partnership that will also leverage F1’s social media and digital reach, together with Santander, to promote broader sustainability initiatives.

Formula 1: Zero carbon by 2030

The six winning projects will receive prizes totaling €120,000: €30,000 for the three winning start-ups (€10,000 each) and €90,000 for the top three scale-ups (€30,000 each) – as well as access to the Santander X 100, Santander X’s global community of the best entrepreneurial projects. Winners will also have their projects promoted on F1’s social media and digital platforms.
