Carlos Sainz gave a joint interview with Marc Marquez, eight-time motorcycle world champion, and one of the best riders in the history of MotoGP. According to the Ferrari driver, his compatriot would be an equivalent of Ayrton Senna if he were in F1.
« Márquez would be Ayrton Senna in Formula 1. I have no doubts about that » Sainz said. « Marc is the only one I’ve seen do impossible things like Senna did in Grands Prix. »
Conversely, Marquez compared Sainz to Francesco Bagnaia, 2022 MotoGP world champion, and Alex Crivillé, legend of the 500cc class and 1999 world champion in the premier two-wheeler category.
« I hesitate between two pilots. You could, for example, draw a parallel between the careers of Carlos and Pecco Bagnaia, because both of them exploded slowly, but now both are at the top or near the top. At the same time, it could be Alex Crivillé, although, unlike him, Sainz will win several titles. »
