Formula 1 | Points and ‘great pride’ for Russell at Monza

George Russell seems to have finally found the recipe for scoring points! After more than two years without scoring, the Briton has scored in three of the last four races. After a good ninth place in Italy, he admits feeling proud of the results of Williams F1.

« I think that’s what the team does incredibly well, making the most of other people’s mistakes, strategically, and capitalizing on them. » Russell said. « Because we know where the pace of the car is, but we ended up in the points three times, without having the pace to do it. »

« As a team we have clearly done something right and it fills me with great pride to continue to bring these results back for the team. »

The team remains on a very positive dynamic from Hungary: « After scoring those first points in Budapest it was a relief for everyone and now everyone can just go out on the circuits week after week and try to maximize it. »

« Maybe we can roll the dice sometimes and try a few new things to try to find more performance and get a better result. I think we’re doing it right now and everyone has confidence. »

“Week after week we’re on this path. So, yeah, I’m really glad we’re on this path right now.”
