Formula 1 | Official: Ferrari restructures, Binotto keeps its role

Ferrari have confirmed that Mattia Binotto will retain her role as head of Scuderia’s sporting direction, as a corporate restructuring was announced today.

It has been confirmed that the F1 team manager will continue as the head of « gestione sportiva », having taken on the role of team manager in 2019 following the departure of Maurizio Arrivabene.

Ferrari has said it is restructuring to try to achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2030, while operating in a manner consistent with its history and « staying true to its racing DNA ».

« The new organizational structure will further foster innovation, optimize processes and increase collaboration both internally and with partners, expanding the leadership team through both the promotion of internal talent and a number of strategic external recruitments, «  says Ferrari’s press release.

Binotto will still report to Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, who added: « Our new organization will improve our agility, which is essential to seize the opportunities that lie ahead in this rapidly changing environment. »

One of the strategic external recruitments could be Jean Todt. But no announcement has been made regarding the former Ferrari GM, who could return to the team in a consulting role, something Binotto himself did not completely rule out in December.
