Formula 1 | Mick in America: a special Grand Prix for him and Haas F1

Mick Schumacher will race on Haas this weekend in Austin, and discover the famous circuit of the Americas at the wheel of an F1. Like Nicholas Latifi and his teammate, Mick Schumacher has never raced on this track: nevertheless he has already been able to analyze it and is enthusiastic before the time of the famous climb to turn 1 …

“It’s a very special circuit. You have the first part which is very fast with tight and very bumpy corners, so it’s definitely a challenge, but it’s also a circuit where overtaking is possible. I hope the race will be in the wet as it will give us the most opportunities, but otherwise I am looking forward to racing on this circuit. There have been famous battles in the past, and I’m sure we’ll be able to be a part of them someday. «

“It’s our home race so I’m obviously excited about it, but it’s so much more than that. I love Austin and the United States. It’s special and it’s something where Formula 1 isn’t very important yet, but we’re on our way to becoming that, especially thanks to the ‘Drive to Survive’ series. Can’t wait to be there because it’s a big show, there’s always a lot going on and frankly I’m just super excited to be going back to the States. «

In Texas it should be milder than in Europe at this time of year: while temperatures should be warmer overall in this second half of the season, what does that change for Mick Schumacher, especially in terms of the famous Pirelli operating window, a decisive element in performance?

“The tires act differently depending on the weather conditions so I’m sure we’ll manage. We have more experience with the team than as drivers, but it’s something we have to learn and it’s great that we have the opportunity to do it. I hope we have a few races ahead of us which will not be as cold as in Europe, but a little warmer. «
