Both Mercedes dominated qualifying and leave behind the current world championship leader.

This Sunday evening at 7 p.m. (GMT) will kick off the race on the Mexico City track. Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas will start from pole position. The Finn will be followed by his teammate Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Behind them, in the top ten, come successively Sergio Perez, Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz, Daniel Ricciardo, Charles Leclerc, Yuki Tsunoda and Lando Norris.

Two top drivers received penalties. These are Tsunoda and Norris, they will have to give way to Raikkonen and Vettel.

For this Mexican Grand Prix, several other drivers received penalties on the starting grid. Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda, Esteban Ocon and Lando Norris all had a fourth engine. The consequence is that they will have to go to lodge at the back of the grid. As for George Russel, Williams driver, he will have to fall back five positions because of his new gearbox.
