Formula 1 | McLaren F1: Norris thinks beating Alpine will be ‘difficult’

After finishing just off the podium in Singapore, Lando Norris took a few days to relax in Japan. Now the McLaren F1 driver is happy to return to Suzuka, a circuit where he has only driven once in a Grand Prix.
« It’s my first time in Tokyo, I had a lot of fun, I explored the restaurants and the like, I had a lot of fun. I saw friends I hadn’t seen for a long time, and it was a good week of recovery after the hard run in Singapore. It’s great to be back for the first time since 2019. » Norris said.
McLaren managed to reclaim fourth place in the constructors’ championship from Alpine F1, but the Briton doesn’t want to take it all for granted as he believes the French team is on better performance momentum.
« Last weekend brought us back into the fight, they stumbled a bit and having our weekend helped us. In terms of performance it’s hard to say. Daniel and I will have the evolved car that I had in Singapore. »
« We have to understand how it works on this circuit because Suzuka is very different from Singapore, with a very fast nature. So those are things we will find out tomorrow. I expect it will be difficult because Alpine has been ahead of us. all year. »
