Formula 1 | Magnussen expects tough challenge with F1 news at Silverstone

Magnussen expects a challenge (...)

Returning to Formula 1 this season, Kevin Magnussen has not driven at Silverstone since the 2020 season and he is therefore very happy to return to this historic circuit this weekend. The Haas F1 driver, who has not scored points since Australia, expects an interesting challenge with the new generation of single-seaters.

« It’s a good feeling. It’s the home of Formula 1 for many reasons, it’s a very traditional race and the circuit is great. I’m really looking forward to driving there again, «  said the Dane.

« These cars are a bit slower but it will still be fast. They are stiff so going over the curbs at Maggotts and Becketts will be a bit different. It will make things even more complicated I think, but it will be great to drive at Silverstone. »

F1 will contest four races throughout the month of July, all in Europe. Magnussen has a thought for the members of the teams who will be working a lot during these few weeks, but he likes the challenge offered as a driver.

« It will be a difficult month for the team, especially for the mechanics. It’s easier for the drivers and therefore it’s not something I worry about, on the contrary I look forward to. If you have a bad race, you go directly to the next one because they are all in Europe, which is much easier. You can go to the race on Thursday morning and many can be home by Sunday evening. It’s simple that d to have two races in Asia in one month for example. »
