Formula 1 | Lance Stroll hopes for the return of the Canadian GP this year
Lance Stroll says he is keeping his fingers crossed that Formula 1 can return as planned to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the Canadian Grand Prix this year.
The Canadian Grand Prix has been missing from the calendar for the past two seasons due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was originally supposed to return last year but was later cancelled.
« I really hope we go back, » Stroll says. « Fingers crossed. »
« I’ve missed my home race for the past two years. It’s always a very special race for me, good times. »
« And I think we all love going there. It’s a great race for Formula 1 and always a very exciting weekend for all the drivers, all of F1 and the fans – there’s great energy and the city is still buzzing. So I really hope we go back. Because… yeah, it’s been too long. »
The Canadian Grand Prix is due to take place on Sunday June 19.
