With Magnussen, Haas F1 starts on (...)

Kevin Magnussen led the way at Haas F1 in Free Session 1 in Singapore taking 14th place while Mick Schumacher, making his debut at this Marina Bay circuit, finished 18th.

In Free 2, the Dane progressed with the 13th time.

« I think it was a good day. It looked like we’re a bit more competitive than we’ve been lately, so that’s good. There’s still some things that are not yet optimal on which we working but despite that it seems to be fine with these cars you have to relearn the track a bit but that hasn’t changed the bumps are still in the same places and it’s remarkably similar to what it was three years ago. It’s good to be back and it’s a fun track to ride. »

Schumacher was only 19th in Free 2 but with much closer times. The German goes there quietly so as not to crumple too much carbon.

« It was quite hot, especially in Free 1, but it was a lot of fun. I’m still learning the track and it’s very unique so it’s just a matter of getting used to it, not pushing too hard. Plus of that this year’s cars are a lot stiffer so you really have to learn the bumps and how to tackle them it’s really about doing the tricks and knowing where to position the car and if everything is correct then you Can you get to work on the settings. That’s what we plan to do tonight but the priority for me today was to clearly identify the pitfalls of this unique track without making any mistakes. »
