Formula 1 | Goodbye 33, hello number 1: Verstappen unveils his 2022 helmet

Max Verstappen has taken to social media to reveal his new 2022 helmet, which is covered in gold and features a new number.

For the first time in his career, Verstappen embarks on the upcoming campaign as defending champion and, having already confirmed that he will ditch his number 33 to put the 1 on his car, that number will also feature on the helmet. .

The No.1 hasn’t been seen in F1 since Sebastian Vettel used it in 2014 as the 2013 champion.

« A bit more gold, as you can see, even the ‘Give you wings’ is gold at the moment, so it looks really cool, » he said in a video (see below) to reveal his helmet.

« The line is completely in gold and of course also the number 1 on the rear spoiler. »

« I decided not to really change the design much, but of course to change the colors a bit, instead of the red you could see before, it’s now pretty much all gold all over with a few little details that make things better. Here too [montrant la marque Citrix dans un motif doré au-dessus de la visière]a little more design. »

« And of course I asked for the little star on the back with the championship win. »

« I think these are small improvements, but the gold makes the design look a bit cooler, so I hope you like that too. »
