Formula 1 | Gasly is impressed with Verstappen’s progress since his F1 debut

Max Verstappen went from being a pilot type « very aggressive » to someone who has « proved its potential »according to his former teammate at Red Bull, Pierre Gasly.

The AlphaTauri leader recalled that the defending champion was a bit raw when he joined the sport and often made mistakes on the track.

However, Gasly points out that Verstappen’s character changed as he developed at Red Bull. According to him, Verstappen is now one of the most impressive drivers on the grid.

« I’ve been racing with Max for 15 years, even before Formula 1 it was always intense racing against him.

« That’s what I’ve always loved, the battles we’ve had in the past. The very tight race. He’s obviously extremely talented. He’s excellent. I think the experience and the combination of what he built with Red Bull Racing is just an incredibly efficient package. »

« They proved it. He was probably a bit raw when he came to F1, very aggressive and made a few mistakes at the start even though he was always super competitive. But I think over the last few years, he has totally proven and exploited his potential. »
