Formula 1 | Ferrari thinks more about the long term from now on, Alonso says

Ferrari had to lower their expectations after Fernando Alonso and then Sebastian Vettel failed to bring Maranello a title.

This is the point of view of the Spaniard, who came close to the world championship wearing red, between 2010 and 2014. In 2010 and 2012, it only played out at a few points with the German, then at the wheel of a Red Bull Renault.

« In my time and Sebastian’s (photo, 2019) Ferrari was not ready to be world champion, » says the Alpine F1 driver today.

« We both tried and almost won, but we didn’t. »

« Now they’ve changed the way they plan things, their progress. And the expectations aren’t that high in the short term anymore. You can see that in their choice of young drivers as well. »

« Now they think more about the long term and training young pilots than the short term. »
