Formula 1 | Ferrari reveals the name of its F1 for 2022

Ferrari today revealed the name of its F1 car for 2022 ahead of the February 17 launch date.

The Scuderia was the second team to announce the launch timing of its all-new car ahead of the season.

The new car will be called the F1-75 in a nod to the Italian manufacturer’s 75th anniversary celebrations this year after Enzo Ferrari first started the 125S engine on March 12, 1947.

The name change breaks up a series of Ferrari F1 cars beginning with the initials « SF » as Scuderia Ferrari.

“Formula 1, with its spirit of competition and innovation, has always been a fundamental part of Ferrari, driving the technological development of our road cars,” said Ferrari chairman John Elkann.

« This year, as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our first production car leaving the factory, we are honoring that spirit by naming our 2022 F1 the Ferrari F1-75. »

On the presentation side, it should be noted that AlphaTauri has since specified that its launch will take place at noon on February 14. Red Bull, Alfa Romeo, Williams and Haas have yet to announce their dates.
