Formula 1 | F1 entry list for 2022 reveals Zhou’s number

Formula 1 has published the provisional entry list for the 2022 season, which will see a real technical revolution with the arrival of new chassis. The 20 registered pilots were already known, but we can see some novelties and changes.

The first item of information on this list is the number that Guanyu Zhou will use, since the Chinese driver will be driving an Alfa Romeo bearing the number 24. This is the first time that this number has been released since they became permanent. The last pilot to use it was Timo Glock in 2012, at Marussia.

Another info concerns his team, since the official name of the team entered by Sauber AG in Formula 1 is changing. Farewell Alfa Romeo Racing, the team will now be called Alfa Romeo F1 Team, recovering a classic nomenclature.

As for the sponsors, we discover several information. The first is that Ferrari and Philip Morris have yet to renew their partnership. Thus, the Mission Winnow initiative is no longer the title sponsor of the team, at least for the moment.

The other information is the confirmation of the extension of the partnership between Mercedes F1 and Petronas. The team will keep the name Mercedes-AMG F1 Team and the Malaysian oil company, despite rumors of replacement by Aramco and its withdrawal in motorcycles in particular, will remain in Formula 1.
