Formula 1 | Does Mick Schumacher have any options in F1 other than staying at Haas?

Does Mick Schumacher have options (...)

Another driver with an uncertain future on the grids in Formula 1 is Mick Schumacher.

Even if things seem to be going better for him at Haas F1, persistent rumors in recent days of a very difficult relationship with Günther Steiner, his boss, sows doubt.

The German would indeed not have appreciated Haas F1 publicly explaining that the upgrades went primarily to Kevin Magnussen because « he’s the one who crashed the least » This year.

Mick Schumacher had a way out, on paper, to Aston Martin F1. But Sebastian Vettel’s place was quickly taken by surprise by Fernando Alonso.

According to Ralf Schumacher, « for my nephew Mick, Aston Martin would have been a good option. But he is already in a team, Haas, who are doing good work and improving. Mick’s performance has improved considerably over the last few weeks, so I can well imagine them staying together. »

« I know the communication is not always easy between him and Günther but I don’t see what else Haas could do, because there are not many experienced riders on the market. And we can see that new drivers need a long start-up time with these cars and no private testing possible. »

For now, Mattia Binotto continues to support the German as he is one of the main drivers in the Ferrari academy. But could he place it elsewhere? Williams is apparently not an option for Mick. Alex Albon remains and the engine manufacturer, Mercedes, would like to see its driver Nyck de Vries replace Nicholas Latifi if the latter has to leave.

Mick could also stay in Formula 1 with Alpine F1 (everything is possible after the Alonso-Piastri imbroglio of the past 48 hours) or even with AlphaTauri.

« Yuki Tsunoda has not been confirmed yet, but he is number 1 on our list, » replies Dr. Helmut Marko.

« We haven’t had any discussions with Mick Schumacher. He’s a Ferrari junior. »
