Formula 1 | Coulthard notes what impresses him about driving Verstappen

David Coulthard returned to the world title of Max Verstappen. According to him, the Dutchman gave everything, and the former pilot considers that his way of driving to the limit, never doubting his maneuvers, is a good thing.

« The way he drives is the thing I find most impressive…if there’s space, he’ll go, there’s no doubt about it. » explains Coulthard. « I used to wonder if I should take the risk. »

« But he sees an overtaking, he takes the risk. It’s very special. And when you see how Lewis defends against that, Lewis is an exceptional driver, but he had to open the door more than once.

Coulthard believes his father, Jos’ desire to make up for his disappointing career played into Max’s training: “This adventure began at the age of four, when Jos, frustrated by the mistakes of his own career, planned how to build a future world champion.

« Max had to fight for it. He was a winner throughout his career, he jumped lower formulas to get to Formula 1, but he doesn’t fear anyone, it’s not part of his psychology.
