Formula 1 | Canal + extends with F1 until the end of 2024
CANAL + announces the signature of an agreement for the exclusive broadcasting until 2024 of the Formula 1 World Championship, a competition which fascinates more and more subscribers and meets an immense success every weekend.
This competition is gathering more and more fans, notably through the victories of the French Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon. Formula 1 achieves exceptional scores and progresses every year since its arrival on the encrypted channel in 2013. In 2020, audiences recorded an increase of more than 27% compared to the previous year.
This year, Canal + has already achieved its three best historical audiences with the record in BAHRAIN at 1.89M (in clear), MONACO at 1.35M and EMILIE-ROMAGNE at 1.29M.
Canal + therefore continues to enrich its motorsport offer thanks to the signing of these agreements. Indeed, this Championship completes a particularly rich offer of exclusive content for subscribers, alongside the Moto GP World Championship (rights extended until 2029) and the WRC (rights extended until 2030).
For Maxime Saada, CEO of CANAL +, « We are particularly proud to continue to offer the entire Formula 1 World Championship to our subscribers until 2024. Our partner Liberty Media allows us to offer an increasingly attractive competition to fans of the discipline. The Championship du Monde de Formula 1 is an unmissable event in our sports offer for our subscribers. «
For Ian Holmes, F1 Director of Media Rights, « We are very pleased to announce the continuation of our partnership with CANAL +, which has consistently provided high quality Formula 1 coverage.
