Formula 1 | Budkowski thrilled with Kvyat’s role at Alpine F1 this season

After losing his place at AlphaTauri at the end of last season, Daniil Kvyat became a reservist for the Alpine team in Formula 1 this season. A role in which he will have fully satisfied his director Marcin Budkowski, who salutes the qualities of the Russian this weekend in Sochi.

Budkowski, however, did not reveal anything about Alpine’s plans for the Russian for 2022, admitting that the team kept as many options as possible for the reserve role.

« I can say that he will be our reserve driver until the end of the season, and I had already stated that our options are open for next year. We are discussing internally the next step to be taken and we have several drivers from our academy arriving and ready for F1. So we are seriously evaluating these options but that’s all I can say for now. We will announce our plans in due course. «
