Formula 1 | Aston Martin F1: Green salutes Szafnauer after his departure

Aston Martin F1 director Andrew Green (pictured left) returned with some emotion to Otmar Szafnauer’s departure from the team. The former team principal of the English team has since found refuge at Alpine F1.
We can also discover Szafnauer in its brand new colors this Monday at 6:30 p.m., on the occasion of the presentation of the Alpine A522, to follow live on Nextgen-Auto.
« Otmar is a great guy and he did a lot for the team for a long time, especially when things were tough, and he really helped » Green said.
« We absolutely have to give him credit for helping the team in those times. I really wish him the best of luck for the future, whatever he does. » he continued before the announcement of Szafnauer’s transfer.
Green also had words for newcomers, Aston Martin F1 CEO Martin Whitmarsh and new team principal Mike Krack: « Personally, I’m really happy with the new management team with Martin and Mike. »
« I can see us working well together. Mike hasn’t started yet, so it’s hard to comment too much on him, but I think he has a varied experience in motorsport. »
« I’ve met him a few times, he seems like a very nice guy. He’s worked in F1 before and so I’m looking forward to the future. I have every confidence in Mike and Martin to put together the team needed. to achieve our ambitions in the years to come. »
