Alpine F1: Ocon wanted to score

Ninth in the Dutch Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon thinks it was possible to do better. The Alpine F1 driver was in this place after the start and even finished sixth at one point, which brings some frustration to him.

“We could do better today and score more points” regret the Frenchman. « It’s solid to score with both cars but overall we didn’t have a good strategy. We stopped too late, we lost time on the cars in front and it cost us a few places. »

« It’s good to get back into the points after a difficult day yesterday, with a lack of speed that will have to be worked on for next time. But it’s not a perfect race today. If there is a driver who is happy to finish ninth, he is not a driver, we have to do better. »

He hopes to do better in Italy, where the configuration will be closer to that of Spa-Francorchamps: « We had great speed in Belgium and we will have a similar car in Monza. It’s in a few days, I can’t wait to be there, it’s a country close to my heart and I love driving in Monza . »
