Delicate race at Zandvoort for Sergio Perez, who did not manage to do better than 5th and who did not have enough pace to compete for the podium, where his teammate Max Verstappen finally dominated the Grand Prix.

The Mexican was notably beaten by the F1 Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, and he admits his surprise at seeing the pace displayed by the Silver Arrows and their strategy.

« I think the Mercedes were too quick for us today. I’m surprised they came close to making their one-stop strategy work, they seemed to really take care of their tyres. »

The Red Bull driver was also overtaken by Carlos Sainz after the safety car returned to the pits: « At the restart, it was complicated because I was on medium tires and I had trouble finding the temperature. »

« It was a complicated day. We still scored a few points and I’m now focused on Monza. »
