Former: Rudy Gestede (ex-FC Metz) officially announces his retirement from sport!


VSt’s the end of a beautiful story, Rudy Gestede, 34, hangs up his crampons after 15 years of occupying the grounds of various championships (France, England, Australia, Greece, Iran).

Revealed in the jersey of FC Metz his training club, he was launched in Ligue 1 by Francis De Taddeo. In 2011, left free by Bernard Serin, the native of Essey-Lès-Nancy will join Great Britain. It was in Cardiff that he really launched his professional career, with the glory of a League Cup final in 2012 at Wembley against Liverpool Reds and a return to the Premier League for the Welsh team. He will then wear the colors of Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Melbourne Victory in Australia, before a freelance in Greece at Panetolikós FC. The Beninese international (11 caps 3 goals) stated on LinkedIn that the latter will begin training at VSI next July in order to obtain his diploma as CEO Sport Organisation.
