Disappeared from the radar of the general public since the Champions League final lost by Liverpool against Real Madrid in 2018, Loris Karius would interest Newcastle. The English club are keen to sign the former Reds goalkeeper after Karl Darlow’s injury.
Apart from a few shots of his impressive physical transformation, images of Loris Karius (29) are rare. Sky Sports indicates this Thursday that the German goalkeeper should soon sign in Newcastle to replace Karl Darlow, injured in training. Lining for Nick Pope, the 31-year-old English goalkeeper is injured in the ankle.
The club have targeted Loris Karius to take his place in the squad. The German, who knows the Premier League well, should soon pass his medical examination.
He never recovered from the ordeal of 2018
No one has forgotten the catastrophic match in the Champions League final against Real Madrid in 2018. The Reds goalkeeper, already mocked before that for several blunders in his team’s cage, had experienced a real ordeal. Feverish and involved in opposing goals, injured, Loris Karius was not spared. He had, after that, no longer played any official match with Liverpool.
He is coming off three loans: two to Besiktas, and one to Union Berlin. At the end of the contract and not extended by Liverpool this summer, the goalkeeper is free to join the club of his choice.
