Former Ligue 1 nugget Ismaïla Sarr approaches Aston Villa

Aston Villa should formalize the signing of a Championship striker in the coming days. Steven Gerrard’s team would have negotiated a good agreement to hire a former Ligue 1 star during this transfer window.

Aston Villa continues its transfer window with a new arrival almost complete. The Villans have been looking for a lane striker for a few weeks. Steven Gerrard seems to have found the right fit with a former Ligue 1 nugget.

According Fabrizio Romano, the British team has a total agreement with Watford for Ismaïla Sarr. His transfer is estimated at 25 million euros with 3 other bonus units.

The Senegalese international would be hot enough to join the Premier League again but would not have an agreement with Villa yet. A meeting should take place between the two parties in the next few hours in order to accelerate its arrival at the beginning of next week.

Sarr has established himself as a reference as a defense blaster for several years across the Channel. The former Rennes player has scored ten goals and provided eight assists in 50 games in the English top flight. It is one of the elements with the most successful dribbles over the last two seasons. There is no doubt that Gerrard will be satisfied with his hypothetical arrival, especially since with three points taken out of nine possible, the Villans are disappointing at the start of the season.
