Ford unveils its new GT Heritage edition

To pay tribute to his historic hat-trick at Le Mans in 1966

Ford is making a strong comeback in 2022. In a nod to the grand debut of the original Ford GT40 prototype at the 1964 New York Auto Show, Ford unveils the 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Edition. of the latest 2022 Heritage Edition, thus paying homage to the GT40 MK II which performed well by taking the first 3 places at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966. “Of all the Ford GT Heritage Edition liveries that we have produced, the unmistakable gold and red theme of the Holman Moody Heritage Edition is an epic homage to our 1966 Le Mans hat-trick,” said Mike Severson, Ford GT program manager.

Ford GT 2022 has a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters and its carbon fiber body. The ultra-limited production Holman Moody Edition GT supercar will be on display at the 2022 New York International Auto Show alongside the Holman Moody Ford GT40 MK II, chassis # P/1016. The unique gold and red livery of the limited-edition supercar includes iconic Oxford White roundels with the No. 5 featured on the doors, bonnet and rear fender – all matching the livery of the 1966 Ford GT40 driven by Holman Moody.

Exposed gloss carbon fiber components are prominent, including on the 20-inch wheels, front spoiler, side sills, mirrors, engine vents and rear diffuser. Brembo® brake calipers lacquered in black with silver graphics, black wheel nuts also invite themselves. Carbon fiber will also feature throughout the cabin, appearing on the door sills and center console, and even features a matte No. 5 roundel on the door panels. The Ebony Alcantara® carbon fiber seats receive gold stitching, while the seating surfaces and headrests feature an embossed GT logo. The Ebony instrument panel is dressed in leather and Alcantara, while the pillars and headliner are exclusively dressed in Alcantara.

Gold accents on the instrument panel, door panel bezels and seat X-brace are paired with matte carbon fiber on the door sills, lower A-pillars and console. The steering wheel finishes are in Ebony Alcantara with black stitching, while the dual-clutch paddle shifters are finished in Holman Moody Gold to match the exterior.
