Antananarivo, August 24, 3:30 p.m. – An agenda that is taking shape. The Malagasy Football Federation (FMF) formalizes the Barea’s participation in an international tournament, in Rabat and Casablanca, Morocco from September 19 to 27.

⭕Madagascar will be one of the twelve national teams that will take part in the event « Morocco capital of African football ». The Barea will join one of the three pools of four scheduled for the meeting. They will play two matches, a semi-final on September 23 or 24 and a final, or a classification match, on September 27. No information filters on the names of the other national teams which will join the Cherifian Kingdom during this window of the International Federation of Association Football (Fifa).
⭕To hear Victorien Andrianony, interim president of the Malagasy Football Federation (FMF), the Barea internship is possible thanks to the assistance of Fifa. “There were several proposals on the table. But we had to take into account the feasibility of the operation, both technically and financially,” he explains.
⭕Nicolas Dupuis, Barea coach, is delighted with the outcome of the negotiations. « I will very soon propose to the Executive Committee the list of 24 players who will participate in this gathering », he promises after the formalization of the decision, on his Facebook account. He should refine his choices after having established a pre-list of 40 players for this gathering.
⭕Several proposals had been made for the September regrouping. Nicolas Dupuis submitted Mali and Moldova in September and November on Tuesday. Previously, he had launched the idea of a Malagasy participation in a tournament organized on Libyan soil. But this last suggestion was “cancelled”.
⭕The regrouping in Morocco is made possible after the postponement of the double confrontation between Madagascar and the Central African Republic in Group E. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had decided to postpone the 3rd and 4th day of the African Cup qualifiers of Nations (CAN), scheduled to be held in September and November after the schedule for the final phase of the competition in Côte d’Ivoire has been adjusted.
⭕For the moment, Madagascar brings up the rear in its group, with one point on the clock. The Barea suffered a defeat against the Black Stars (0-3) before conceding a draw against the Palancas Negras (1-1) in Mahamasina.
