For his first tenure with Bayern Munich this Wednesday, August 31 against Viktoria Cologne, Guadeloupe-born striker Mathys Tel became the youngest scorer in the history of the Bavarian club, at just 17 years and 126 days.
Bayern Munich bet on him and obviously the club was not wrong. For his very first tenure, Mathys Tel, the young striker of Guadeloupe origin, scored his first goal during the match against Viktoria Cologne in the German Cup, this Wednesday, August 31.
A goal that looks like a trophy, since thanks to it, it becomes at 17 years and 126 days the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Bavarian club.
Just before half-time, served by Ryan Gravenberch, he deceived his defender before curling his shot on the opposite side, as this video shows from the 5th second:
Mathys Tel was ardently courted last June by Bayern Munich who put on the table €28.5 million to buy him from Stade Rennais. A record amount for a youngster of that age who had only played 88 minutes as a professional.
Since his arrival in Germany, the player had played two Bundesliga matches when entering the game.
Born in Sarcelles in 2005, the attacker of Guadeloupe origin went through the pre-training center of Paris FC, before joining the National Training Institute of Clairefontaine. There are two seasons left. while also playing in a club in the Paris region, before leaving for Rennes when he was twelve.
If his immense potential was already known, he attracted all eyes by shining during the European U-17 championship in June 2022. He also won the title with his teammates.
Note that the dazzling success of Mathys Tel echoes another Guadeloupe from Bayern Kingsley Coman, second most successful French player in history behind Karim Benzema, club and selection combined.
