« When he knocked on my door and expressed his desire to leave, I told him to leave », said the 50-year-old Catalan technician.
Despite their financial difficulties, the Barcelona have already made several offers for the 21-year-old Spanish international (12 goals, 22 caps), according to Spanish media.
In Britain, the BBC and Sky announced Wednesday evening that the Catalan club were ready to shell out 55 million euros to recruit Torres.
Since arriving in England in 2020, the striker has won the Premier League and the English League Cup with City. He also played in the 2021 Champions League final lost to Chelsea.
In 43 appearances for City, he has scored 16 goals. This season he has only made seven appearances due to a broken foot in October.
