Football – Coupe de France (7th round): the Boé-Bon-Encontre agreement wins eighth heaven with a new feat against Lescar
The players of Entente Boé Bon-Encontre have signed yet another feat for the 7th round of the Coupe de France. The Lot-et-Garonnais imposed themselves on the lawn of Lescar. A third formation of this level beaten by the « green and white » during this competition. See you now on November 20 in Boé opposite Aubagne (N2).
A full stadium, euphoric supporters, an exceptionally mild temperature. Everything was gathered last night in Lescar to attend a great football match. A 7th round to pass to face, on November 20, a National 2 club, Aubagne in this case, who defeated Toulon yesterday at the end of the afternoon on penalties.
For this match against a team from R1, the Boetian staff had chosen to do without Gaëtan Micheletti in their starting XI. In attack, Corentin Chaminade was in support of the troublemaker Gianni Favennec. A rather cautious composition on paper.
In the stands, the kops, lescarien and boétien, fought a beautiful « vocal » duel during the match. On the field, synthetic, the players imitated them in a padlocked part but with a lot of intensity. On this unusual surface for them, the Boétiens showed defensive solidity against the particularly fast Bearn attackers. Pierre Berthelot, on his right side, was the first to stand out. But Lescar’s goalkeeper was quicker (10th). The many spectators had very few clear opportunities to get their teeth into during this first act. All the duels were very tight, the efforts multiplied to cut off the opposing attempts. The technical contribution of Corentin Chaminade was undeniable for the EBBE, but he sometimes lacked support and presence in front of goal.
Boétiens very solid in defense
On the other hand, the defensive organization was solid. Rock Michaud was precious, well supported by Labiod and the Benlloch – Goncalves pair in front of him. Thus, Grossetie had only one exit to perform in the feet of a Lescarien (23rd). It was necessary to wait until the end of half-time to vibrate. On a nice strike from the Béarn central defender Roume. Then on an attempt from the head of Favennec on a set piece (45th).
The second half was richer in scoring chances. On a smoothly led counter, Chaminade was shifted in an excellent position in the area. But the Boétien passed by Pau FC, procrastinated too much and finally completely missed his shot. Then it was the locals who went on the offensive. In the 64th minute, Grossetie was very happy to see the ball slip past his cages without any Lescarien taking it back. Then Captain Galves tumbled into the area and saw his shot grazed the post (69th). Three minutes later, Sarraut removed the ball from the feet of an Assoumou who presented himself alone against Grossetie.
Do Poço’s cannon shot
After squeezing the buttocks, the EBBE will react in the perfect way. Found between the lines, Lucas Do Poço sent a terrible cannonball which pierced the opposing goalkeeper (0-1, 73rd).
It was now necessary to hold on, for a quarter of an hour, despite the fatigue, the heavy legs, and the pressure of the Béarnais who were playing their all out. Grossetie reassured everyone with two stops full of authority (79th, 80th).2
11 Boétiens, well supported by the hundred supporters who had made the trip, faced a whole stadium that was pushing to equalize. But the defense was iron. Boé-Bon-Encontre was even going to kill all suspense at the very end of the match. Well launched against by Favennec, Tom Martinez mystified the last defender with an inside dribble and the goalkeeper with a well-placed shot (0-2, 87th). The case was folded, the qualification assured.
Thanks to his defensive solidity and two decisive flashes in the second half, Boé-Bon-Encontre offers himself an 8th round of the Coupe de France in a month in Cancelles. A gala match that should unleash passions. And, with the heart and the guts shown by this team, why not start dreaming?
