Foot: Aguero absent for at least three months

FC Barcelona’s Argentine international striker Sergio Aguero, victim of discomfort in the middle of the match on Saturday, will be unavailable for at least the next three months, the time to assess the effectiveness of the treatment he will have to follow, announced the Spanish club on Monday.

« Kun Agüero has undergone a diagnostic and therapeutic process by Dr. Josep Brugada, » FC Barcelona said on its website. « It will not be available for the next three months, the effectiveness of the treatment will be evaluated to determine its recovery process. »

The club added that the Argentine had undergone « cardiological examinations » on Saturday evening.

Agüero suffered a slight discomfort during the match against Alavés on Saturday at Camp Nou and lay down on the ground, touching his chest and neck shortly before half-time.

The referee called the rescuers but Agüero walked out of the field, replaced by Philippe Coutinho. He was then evacuated to a hospital in Barcelona.

The club posted a photo of the player on Twitter with the hashtag # ForçaKun (Force Kun).

The 33-year-old striker, who joined FC Barcelona this summer from Manchester City, has made five official appearances for Barca, for just one goal.
