At the age of seven, Doriane Pin asks her father, who is used to the tracks, to go karting. Only problem, it is too small. This year 2019 has not been easy for the young driver, faced with doubts and difficulties in finding sponsors. “In 2019, I could only do one race and you had to give everything otherwise it was over for me. I chose the French Championship because it’s the biggest competition I could do to try to win a title and be spotted. » traces the schoolgirl.
The previous year, she had won bronze on the same circuit. “I learned from my mistakes, I understood what I needed to win. […] I watched videos and when I came to it again in 2019, I was really, really focused. » The work eventually paid off.
She drove in Maranello
On the strength of her first place in the 2019 French Karting Championship, Doriane Pin is selected for the program « Girls on Track – Rising Stars » in 2020. Organized by the FIA, Girls on Track is a competitive model for the promotion and development of young women in motorsport. After her brilliant races, Doriane offers herself a place among the four drivers selected to undergo training at the Ferrari Driver Academy. She goes to the final and even drives on the legendary Fiorano circuit in Maranello, holy land of Ferrari, and finishes in second place on the podium. The young motorsport prodigy passes tests on a Formula 4 and then meets Iron Dames, the team she will join in 2021 (or even elsewhere).
She signed her first professional contract at 17
At the start of 2021, the young driver from the Côte d’Azur signed her first professional contract with the Italian team Iron Dames. Based in Cesena in Italy, the team only fields female pilots and Doriane finds happiness there. She took her first win in the Ferrari Challenge Europe
The year 2022 marks a turning point in his racing career. In Portimão, Portugal, Doriane won the opening race of the Ferrari Challenge Europe. The competition consists of seven meetings over the year, each time with two races per weekend.
First in practice, the French driver also signed two poles, then won both races hands down. “It’s my fondest memory, it was magical to share that with my team, which is like my second family. She dreams of racing in Formula 1
