First Serie A start for Daniel Maldini with Milan

Daniel Maldini, grandson of Cesare Maldini and son of Paolo Maldini, two AC Milan legends, was started for the first time at 19 in Serie A, with the Rossoneri on Saturday on the lawn of La Spezia during the 6th day. The descendant of the Maldini dynasty is tenured as playmaker, behind Olivier Giroud, back at the top after missing several matches due to coronavirus and then back pain. Daniel Maldini, who entered the Champions League for a few minutes in Liverpool (3-2 defeat) on September 15, already has nine Serie A appearances, but each time he entered the game. His only two starts to date with The Rossoneri’s first team were held in the Europa League last season. Paolo Maldini, 53, now sporting director of AC Milan, has played more than 900 matches in all competitions with the Lombard club, where he has played his entire career. He has notably won five Champions Leagues and seven Italian league titles. His father, Cesare Maldini, who died in 2016, spent most of his career in Milan, where he wore the colors from 1954 to 1966. He was crowned four times Italian champion with the Rossoneri and lifted the first of the seven C1 won by the club in 1963.
