« Field of Dreams » 2022: it will be Reds against Cubs
A few days ago, the MLB hosted their “Field of Dreams” event live from Iowa. It was a real success and everyone was talking about it which gave the league good publicity.
And at this point, expect to see a lot of stories to come out of it. This is the reason why a television series on this concept will be delivered to amateurs.
But back to the game itself.
Given the success of the match in Iowa, Rob Manfred announced the return of this game in 2022. It only remained to know the teams.
My prediction was to see the Cardinals against the Cubs. Why? For the rivalry. To bring the match into the National. Because the Cards were to replace the Yankees in 2020. Because the Cubs expected to be entitled to the game in 2022.
In the end, I was not far: it will be Reds against Cubs.
Seeing the Reds, who don’t have a bad club, keeps the historical aspect of the game. Just like the Cubs, of course.
The magic might be less, but the game will still hold the attention.
