Ferrari SP 48 Unica: Ferrari’s unique model, 100% thermal
Ferrari presents another of its bespoke creations from the Special Projects Department, named Ferrari SP 48 Unica. It is a supercar with V8 engine, with a very seductive and futuristic look. As the name suggests, there is only one version in the world, which was designed with the help of a longtime, anonymous and extremely wealthy client.
A modern and sporty twin-turbo V8
The Ferrari SP 48 Unica is a sporty two-seater berlinetta, which has a twin-turbo V8 engine on board. This mid-rear-engined coupé takes up the technical basis of the F8 Tributo, which was recently removed from the catalogue. It joins the most exclusive of the entire 100% thermal range.
This latest SP 48 from the one-off series is distinguished by its arrow-shaped front end and its headlights which are more reminiscent of those of the Roma and the 296. In profile, it is equipped with new sockets of air for the engine cooling flows on the front bumper and under the rear spoiler. Compared to the F8, the SP 48 develops a maximum power of 720 hp for a torque of 770 Nm, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
A berlinetta with a fully thought-out design
This unique model of the prancing horse has a very attractive orange-red body color. Its seats are in perforated and laser-cut black Alcantara, under which appears a fabric taking up the color of the exterior. As for the wheels, they are downright spectacular.
It is at the rear that this Ferrari Unica differs from other Maranello models, since it does not have a rear window. Because of this, there is no way to see the engine through the rear view mirror, or even the car behind it. By the way, Ferrari has not released any pictures of the interior, but it is surely created in a well thought out way. On the price side, only the buyer knows the answer.
