Ferrari reveals the name of its new F1

2022 is an important year for Scuderia Ferrari. The legendary Italian team is preparing to celebrate the Prancing Horse brand’s 75th anniversary. It was indeed in 1947 that its founder Enzo Ferrari fielded the first cars bearing his name. To pay homage to this great history, Ferrari has decided to name its new F1: F1-75.

The announcement was made via a short video on the Italian team’s official Instagram page. This video is accompanied by a text which specifies: “She has a name. Get ready to meet our 2022 challenger.”. We can notice that the red color present is quite dark. This suggests that the livery of the new single-seater should not fundamentally change compared to that of recent seasons.

Since 2015, all Ferraris that have participated in the F1 World Championship have had a name starting with “SF”. Moreover, this is not the first time that Ferrari has used the name of its F1 to commemorate or celebrate an event. In 2003, the world champion car in the hands of Michael Schumacher was called “F2003-GA” to pay tribute to Giovanni Agnelli, former boss of Fiat. More recently in 2011, the red single-seater was called “150° Italy” to celebrate 150 years of Italian unification.

To discover the lines of this new Ferrari F1-75, you will have to wait a few more days. As a reminder, the single-seater which will again be driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz this season will be revealed on February 17th.
