Scuderia Ferrari has announced its driver for the two free practice sessions. Through the team’s sporting director Laurent Mekies, the Italian team has therefore confirmed the presence of Robert Schwartzman, 22-year-old driver and member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, at the wheel of the F1-75.
We haven’t decided exactly what events these will be. But we won’t choose races like Singapore where the drivers really need to run. I don’t think we have a problem doing it on a Pirelli test weekend either.

The move follows new F1 regulations regarding rookies. As a reminder, with the new Grand Prix weekend format since 2022, Formula 1 has notably put in place the obligation to field a young driver for at least two free practice sessions per season.

Thus, Jüri Vips was able to take the place of Sergio Perez in Spain, Nyck de Vries that of Lewis Hamilton in France.
