faulty brakes, the brand’s biggest recall?

Nearly 24,000 Ferraris of various models produced since 2005 and located mainly in the United States have been recalled following a brake fluid reservoir problem.

The last few days must be difficult for Ferrari, especially the US-based branch of the Prancing Horse firm. A brake fluid reservoir cap is indeed faulty on many models. 23,555 vehicles must therefore be recalledin order to solve this problem.

“The brake fluid reservoir cap may not purging properly, underlines the NHTSA (federal agency of the United States in charge of road safety). It can create « a vacuum inside the brake fluid reservoir ». Which leads to  » a brake fluid leakwhich can lead to a partial or total loss of braking function » . Just that.

The list of Ferraris affected by this XXL recall

A serious problem by what it can signify (the accident) but which should fortunately do not ask for too heavy an intervention. As for the models concerned, here is the list. Most cars are located in the United States and are sold since 2005!

  • Ferrari 430
  • Ferrari 612 (including the Scaglietti version)
  • Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and F12 TDF
  • Ferrari California and California T
  • Ferrari LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta
  • Ferrari GT4C T and GT4C Lusso
  • Ferrari FF, Pista, Roma, Portofino, F8 Tributo and 488 Pista

The customers in question will be contacted by Ferrari and invited to come to the dealership. From there, the faulty plug will be changed. A Obviously free operation.
